If you are a high school senior, then you know that graduation is getting closer and closer. It’s time for the official countdown to begin (if it hasn’t already). These are your last months of high school, and it’s still a pretty big deal. You’re about to enter “The Real World,” and it won’t be the same as high school. Personally, I was never a big fan of high school, but senior year will always stand out to me. Make these last few months count by doing some of the things on this bucket list… you won’t regret it. Here are 17 things every high school senior must do before graduation:

  1. Have a Senior Cut Day:

I’m not trying to encourage you to be irresponsible, but… I mean, be a little irresponsible at least once. It’s a fun chance to do something with your grade and have fun together.

  1. Take a Self-Defense class:

You never know when that might come in handy.

  1. Start exercising and eating right:

Staying healthy can make you feel great and therefore accomplish more things.

  1. Write a thank you note to a teacher that inspired/helped you:

Good teachers want nothing more than to know they’ve made a difference in their students’ lives. If a teacher made a difference in yours, let them know.

  1. Learn how to budget your money:

This is important because once you get to college and start living on your own, you have a lot more responsibilities and things to pay for. We must start keeping that in mind.

  1. Edit your social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Ttwitter, etc.) and delete what looks bad:

Colleges and employers tend to look at your social media accounts (if you have one), so be cautious as to what you post online.

7.  Talk to someone you were never close with or drifted away from:

We must take advantage of these last few months left and reconnect with old friends or even make new ones.

  1. Make amends and apologize to someone you treated badly:

High school can be a pretty cold place, and sometimes even nice people say or do something hurtful. If you’ve hurt someone, offer an apology. They will probably appreciate it, and you will feel a lot less guilty in the future.

  1. Start planning for life after you graduate:

Don’t procrastinate anymore and start focusing on important things like college, getting a job, etc.

  1. Do a random act of kindness and brighten someone’s day:

Doing a good deed won’t just brighten up that person’s day, but it will also impact yours.; you feel good after you help someone.

  1. Say Yes To Everything For One Day (within reason):

Answering yes to every request is a great exercise in thinking and acting positively. You might find yourself saying “yes” a lot more afterwards!

  1. Pull an all-nighter:

High school is an ideal time to do this, because you don’t have too many responsibilities, and you’re old enough to keep your eyes open all night long.

  1. Learn how to cook, clean and do laundry:

Once you head to college or get a place of your own, these household chores will become survival skills you need for living away from home.

  1. Plan a fun vacation with your closest friends:

Don’t just sit around doing homework and hanging out with your Mom over winter/spring break- Instead- take a trip with them while you are all still in the same place!

  1. Take a train/bus:

Start taking public transportation because you might not have a choice later on in life.

  1. Go Sky Diving:

#YOLO all the way.

  1. Be remembered:

For all the amazing and positive things you’ve done while at HANC!!!
